Our 22nd Hobbity Yule Calendar surprise is a Yule poem about summer dreams!
Summer Dreams
By Hedgehogs, Badgers and Bears
While some engage in carols, singing
Others might lie still, sleeping
When the cold kicks in
They crawl into hiding
And fall asleep, dreaming
Dreaming of summer
The spiky one snuffles ‘neath the leaves
Enjoying the summer dreams
Days of warm sunlight
Fireflies in the night
When stars are all alight
Wonders of summer
In a sett, a fellow in black and white
Dreams of summer and light
Berry bushes bursting full
Worms wriggling in the mull
No meal is ever dull
In abundance of summer
In a den sleeps the forest king
Large and furry, mighty snoring
In his dreams, buzzing bees
Fresh fish, juicy sweet
Nose tickling in the breeze
In the scent of summer
Let them sleep, let them dream
For those dreams become real
So feel free to dream too
Of things that can come true
Like these creatures do
In the wishful days of Yule
