Our 12th Yule Calendar surprise takes us wandering with hobbits across some snowy lands in a form of a video!
In this video, some hobbit roleplayers on the LOTRO Laurelin server pack up their bags and set off to a faraway place called Lyndelby. This video shows the first part of the journey from Rivendell, Trollshaws, to Vegbár in the Vales of Anduin. The second chapter of this journey will be revealed in this calendar on a later date. A Wander to Faraway Hobbit Lands - Chapter One (LOTRO)
A timeworn and dusty tome uncovered in the library of Tuckborough spoke of ancient relatives dwelling in peculiar, far-off parts of the world. Within the pages was tucked a fading map that pointed to a place called Lyndelby. Curiosity tickled, we packed an abundance of provisions, supplies, and most importantly vittles, readied our loyal hounds and steeds, and fetched our finest walking sticks and handkerchiefs. We quietly left the Bounds, mindful of the local gossip, in search of our distant cousins.
This chapter of our journey unfolds in Rivendell, recorded in August 2023. Familiar faces from both The Hobbitry and Grand Order of the Lost Mathom kinships can be spotted, along with Hobbit, Dwarf, and Elf friends from the wider Laurelin roleplaying community. As we navigate these wonderous yet perilous terrains, the bonds of friendship and fellowship are tested. Nevertheless, we wander, with each step bringing us closer to uncovering the mysteries of Lyndelby.
The music featured in this video was arranged for LOTRO by The Bullroarers, the Hobbitry's band. Our arrangers here are Aodhfin, Nonette, and Ragamuffin. After a mishap with the audio, utilising the Bullroarers' tunes to double as a playlist of sorts seemed best.
