For our 9th yule calendar surprise, we have another recipe! This time, it comes from Gifio who is a member of the Hobbitry-in-Arms kinship. Gifio is a fond lover of apple juice, so he sent us this Mulled Apple Juice recipe! It's something for you too, if you don't want to muddle your wits on yule!

Gifio is dressed in a yule outfit, standing by a fence and waving his hand at us. "You there! Yule is around the corner. Let's make some sweet Mulled Apple Juice!"

Gifio is standing in the same spot, looking down at an apple orchard. "Find yourself an orchard with plenty of decent apples as you need as many as you have fingers.

Gifio is running down a slope, hands raised and mouth open. He seems to be charging at shrews that often guard the apple trees: "SCARE THOSE PESKY SHREWS AWAY!"

Gifio is standing in the orchard with a hobbit lass by his side. There is a thick bush before them, and the lass is looking at it. Gifio: "No Salvira, not blueberries, we need ten apples!"

Gifio is standing in front of a market stand, looking back at the things on sale: "Next stop is a visit to one of the markets to buy some more stuff."

Gifio is still standing at the market, listing the ingredients like a true professional: "Ground nutmeg, ginger powder, cinnamon, flowers of cloves and 1 orange is what you need."

Gifio is standing by a fireplace inside a dimly lit hobbit home. There's a cooking pot by the fire. It's enough warm there so Gifio has removed his festive yule cap. He has raised his finger and talks to us. "Now let's get started! First smash the apples into some good apple juice and put it in the pan."

Gifio is still standing by the fire, now pointing at the cooking pot. "Next, cut the orange into wedges. Don't cut your fingers! And add it to the pan together with the spices."

Gifio is still by the fire, but now he is stomping his foot and looking a bit annoyed. "Bring the juice to boil and leave to simmer for about 5 minutes... Oh don't mind the mess I've made!"

Gifio is standing by a table indoors. There is a plate of apples, a goblet and a bottle. Gifio is drinking from a mug. "Now enjoy the drink while it's still warm!"
