They say seven is a lucky number! But this yule surprise might get some people cursing. It is a yule song that some folks try to avoid. No, it's not the Last Yule tune! So no worries if you are participating in the Whamageddon this year.
Here's a yule song I wrote last year. It tells a story of secret love at a yule party: a lass would like to get a kiss from that special lad and even sets a trap to get him under the mistletoe. However, things won't go as she planned, as you can see in the end.
The Mistletoe Song
Yule means celebration
And, most of all, anticipation
Little hobbits dream of the gifts
They might find under the yule tree
One lass doesn’t care for gifts
All she wants is a warm kiss
From that one sweet lad
A kiss beneath the mistle…
the...
Mistletoe
Party is in full swing
All are dancing, sipping drinks
And this lass lurks out of sight
Romantic plans on her mind
All she wants is that one kiss
It will be just pure bliss
One soft kiss in the shady room
It would be a dream come true
She would be forever glad
To smooch with that one lad
All she wants is
A kiss beneath the mistletoe
She sets a kissing trap
For that shy hobbit lad
She’ll feign fainting under the mistletoe
When the lad is somewhere close
When he comes to her aid
There would be no escape
He would need to kiss her then
It would be such a happy end
She would be forever glad
To smooch with that one lad
All she wants is
A kiss beneath the mistletoe
There he comes now, it’s time to act fast
The lass falls down, lands down on the mat
Soon she’ll be in his strong hobbit arms
Her plan will work like a charm
“Nothing can’t surely go wrong”
She thinks, maybe feeling a bit too sure
Someone approaches with a fast pace
A warm breath blows on her face
Her heart bounces of sweet joy
Soon she’ll kiss that handsome boy
But she gets the wettest lick
That makes her jump up quick
She let’s out a shriek:
She has been kissed by a…
A pig!
Be careful what yer wish fer on yule, ooh-ooh
Be careful what yer wish fer on yule, ooh-ooh
Be careful what yer wish fer on yule, ooh-ooh
Be careful what yer wish fer on yule, ooh-ooh
This yule song is best hummed to a very popular yule song by Mariah Carey:
But why is there a pig in the party? Well, at some hobbit kinship houses, you might spot freely roaming pigs. Mostly they are just harmlessly sleeping, but sometimes they wander off to the study to feed on some precious scrolls and mathoms.
