For our 5th yule calendar surprise, we have a yule song... about pierates! Yer might sometimes spot these pierates braving the Brandywine waters or trying their best to pillage pies in the Shire. But even these pierates take some time to celebrate yule! Here's a song I wrote about them.
Pierates Yule Shanty
I saw pierates come sailing in
On this yule day, on this yule day
I saw pierates come sailing in
On this yule day in the morning
They had a merry hedgehog crew
On this yule day, on this yule day
They had a merry hedgehog crew
On this yule day in the morning
They rode on baby oliphaunts
On this yule day, on this yule day
They rode on baby oliphaunts
On this yule day in the morning
They played bagpipes merrily
On this yule day, on this yule day
They played bagpipes merrily
On this yule day in the morning
They rated merry berry pies
On this yule day, on this yule day
They rated merry berry pies
On this yule day in the morning
They drank and spilt mulled yule wine
On this yule day, on this yule day
They drank and spilt mulled yule wine
On this yule day in the morning
Their noise woke up the old gaffers
On this yule day, on this yule day
Their noise woke up the old gaffers
On this yule day in the morning
And now they shiftly sail away
On this yule day, on this yule day
And now they shiftly sail away
On this yule day in the morning
The song is surprisingly similar to an old yule tune, I Saw Three Ships. Yer can hum it to this lovely version by Blackmore's Night!
